At the beginning of the year, the export of liquid crystal product from our city witnessed rapid progress. ‘For the first two months, the export of liquid crystal product has exceeded 90 million US dollars, which is 7 times of that in last year,’ said Ding Haibin, the vice director of Foreign Trade Bureau, ‘According to the plan of export in our city, the export of liquid crystal product will reach 8 million and the total export value will reach 1 billion US dollars. The export of liquid crystal product will rank the third after clothing and textile product.
Liquid crystal product has now become a very hot item in export. Before 2004, there had been no export of it in our city. By the year of 2006, the export of it had reached 1,786,000 and the total value reached 291 million US dollars, an increase of 333 percent over the same period of last year.
The rapid development of the export of liquid crystal product shows the completion and optimization of export structure in our city. Several years ago, the export of machinery did not account for half of the export, while now the export of it accounts for 54.1 percent of the total export in our city.
